Ever Beautiful

I am so obsessed with looking for signs of spring.
I went about 5 blocks out of my way when out to buy groceries. I figured that maybe I would get some pretty shots of the water at a beach near us.

This was two weeks ago, and there was still ice on the lake, but I parked my car and ran over to stand in the misting rain to get a picture of this colorful bush. I was fascinated by it. I had never seen one this color. Just wait till I showed this to Jeannie...

After snapping a few pictures, I stopped, not because I was cold and wet, but my precious camera. If I were to hurt it I would never forgive myself.

I shared my pictures with Jeannie and she and her husband got a good laugh on me. You see my pretty bush is a dying Yew, and the tree that fascinated me with it's dramatic look is a dying Weeping Willow.

So they may have taken the wind out of my sails a little, but I still find the tree and the bush beautiful. I can't say that for all the duck pooh I had to walk through to get back to my car though. Funny, I never noticed it on my way out, only on the way back.
Oops.

What interesting pictures have you captured?

I really enjoyed looking at your pics. That is too bad that they are dying though.

CA, thanks for the comment and for the visit. I still think they're pretty. :-)

The silhouette of the one tree is still beautiful despite its condition. The little bush I had no idea but it looked like a type of spruce, but then I don't see a lot of yew here.

Judy, I thought they were quite pretty, but then I have turned in to quite the camera bug! :-)

Are you sure that this "dying yew tree" is not actually a swamp cypress tree (deciduos conifer) that sheds it's leaves every autumn?
