Thankful Thursday - Sincerity

I miss my little dog. My husband tells me he would hear my car before I parked and wait for me at the door. His welcome was genuine and heart felt. He told me that my cats do the same. I don't get jumped on and get the kisses like my dog would give me, but they certainly follow me around the house until I sit down and then they will fight each other for my lap. If our fur buddies can be this attentive to us, how should we react to spending time with our heavenly father?

Do we approach our Bible study with sincere hearts? Are we eager to attend church? Do we look for opportunities to serve one another? Are we in continuous prayer and not just when we are in dire need? Jeremiah 29:13 "You will find me when you seek me, if you look for me in earnest." The Living Bible paraphrased.

There is nothing two faced about our pets. Their actions are transparent, their loyalty obvious. Our words may be eloquent and faithful but what of our activities? This is where you can see our sincerity or insincerity.
I John 3:18-19 "Little children, let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love and show it by our actions. Then we will know for sure, by our actions, that we are on God's side, and our consciences will be clear, even before we stand before the Lord."

You have so much love, Judy! And your words are truly inspiring!

Icy, there are people like you who are so kindhearted and generous that is hard not to love them and then those we have to work a little harder to love. :-) I'm trying, but with God's help I will get there.

God bless, sis

That is true... animals are better friends than people sometimes. They have the ability to be faithful no matter what. Their sincerity is golden since we know that they don't anything in return unlike people who sometimes can do things because they will get something in return or will do you favor in exchange of another favor.

Ruthi, you hit the nail on the head.

Take care & God bless!

I agree that animals can treat you better than most people. They love you unconditionally and it is beautiful.
