Plants as Purifiers

Phil fleabane white
Icy, BC Doan wrote an article three years ago which immediately came to my mind Sunday when I saw this spider (airplane) plant at my sister’s home. It is one of the highly recommended houseplants to assist in removing toxins from our air. To learn more check out B.C. Doan’s article: Purify Indoor Air with Houseplants. She spells out the reasons you may want to add particular plants to your home and gives you an introduction to each.

The Fleabane shown in the collage above has been around for many years. It is one of many species of Pulicaria dysenterica, a member of the daisy family. Many of the daisies have a natural insecticide, secreting a type of chemical called thiopene. – Marjorie Blamey’s Flowers of the Countryside. It was burned in the 1600s to aid in repelling fleas. It’s hard to believe someone sold me this very plant as feverfew to aid in headache prevention. :-)

You are a wealth of knowledge. I wish I knew that much about herbs. I just eat them all, because I know with what I do to my body, I could use all the herbs I can get. Smiles

Golden Pothos is my top choice for indoor plants, I have had at least one in every place I have lived. I also have a Peace Lily (Mauna Loa). House plants are so important and beautiful too. My house if filled with plants.
