No Ordinary Beauty!

Left my friend's home early tonight
Thinking maybe I'd timed it just right
Looking for a glorious setting sun
I kept looking but could not find one

I wanted to capture the big circle of red
Fiery, vivid, but I found ordinary instead
Drove a little further looking to the west
A glorious sun is my quest
My view blocked by houses and trees
Don't let me miss the sunset again were my pleas

Just a little further, I turn to the right
There is no sun anywhere in sight
Pull out the camera to take a picture or two
Of just the lake. It will have to do.

I turned  around and headed back to my car
Oh well, at least I didn't come far..
One last look before I leave
And the colors were just too pretty to believe.

God, I know my patience is small
Why do you put up with me at all?
You reward my despair with beauty unknown
When I so often gripe, grumble and groan.

I set my mind and heart on one design
But it may not be what you have in mind.
My camera pays tribute to you better than I
In  attempts at capturing the beauty of the  sky

Beautiful, serene reflections and the poem just completes the photos.

Ah, breath taking! Glad you persisted in looking! Hard to choose, but I think the first and the last are my favorites:)

You do a great job with your poems. I think they are very easy to read, and that makes you a great artist. They always say, keep it simple but make it interesting.
