Thankful Thursday - Chilean Rescue!

For the last few days my husband and I have been following this story on the news. It is both inspiring and heartwarming. In the beginning it was very scary.

"Cheers and tears" were shed and shared as man after man was rescued from the underground mine. Chilean flags waved, friends and family gathered, medical staff was on hand and all emerged safely.

This has been the most complex mine rescue I can remember and the most successful. For 65 long days the men were trapped below the ground's surface. Can you imagine the worry and suffering their friends and family felt? Can you imagine the joy they are now experiencing since the safe return of their loved one(s)?

The government enlisted a team of experts from the U.S. NASA for their wisdom in keeping the crew well physically and mentally. They averaged a weight loss of 22 pounds or 10 kg. each during their first 2 1/2 weeks before they were known to be alive.

For more read here. The two photos I borrowed were found here also and you can view more at the link, if you would like. Our God is an awesome God and He does continue to perform miracles daily. Take care and God bless!

Thanks for sharing this story! I was clueless since I didn't watch TV or turn on the radio :-(

Yes, I never see anything but children's channels and movies now. God is good all the time.

I have been following the story on the internet and it was a miraculous recovery. I was reading today how they sent items down to the miners through a small tube.

I heard about the miners. That is so great that they were finally rescued. That is horrible how they were trapped for so long.

I watched this on TV too and I am amazed at how situations like this bring the best in people.
