Shimmering White Diamonds

Have you ever noticed how the facets of snow sparkle and glitter like a million tiny diamonds? I was gazing out the window at the sparkly snow covered world on my break and grabbed my camera. I examined each picture after taking it.  Why is it my camera cannot see what my eyes can see?

Tis only a moment taken from a busy day
A quiet moment stolen to scurry away
To gaze out the window and forget walls of white
Knowing escape is not possible til later tonight

Wondering eyes capture limbs covered with snow
Admiring the sparkling white on branches that glow
A million diamonds glittering from outside can I see
Winking and blinking merrily at me.

Love your poem, Judy! You need to compile all of these poem into a booklet. They are inspiring!

Lovely poem Judy, it really describes the sunlight dancing on the snow.

I have been trying to capture that sparkle too, it is very elusive through the camera lens.

One of my favorite photos to hang, leave-less trees. They are mysterious and yet beautiful and raw.
