Thankful Thursday - Mysteries

Is there any greater mystery than love? It can be totalling mind and life altering. After all God is love. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, all knowing, all seeing...I borrowed the top picture from my son's facebook page. I am so warmed by his love and adoration for his new girlfriend and her's for him. Who can figure? Can you explain love? It is one of God's greatest gifts and a true mystery.

Down to picture two. This was one of my days a few weeks ago. I realized when I got to work that my shoes did not match. Nice huh? I have another pair just like them.

I noticed the shoes right after I put my glasses on so I could sign into my computer. Why couldn't I see my log in page? My lens had fallen out, but I found them in the bottom of my purse and popped them right back in. I had a good laugh about the shoes and was grateful I already had the job so I did not have to impress an interviewer. :-) That might have been tough.

The beauty of the ever changing sky, the antics of my cats.... mysteries; lovely mysteries.

I threw in another one for good measure. Check out the last picture. Have you ever seen snow sit on a branch like this? I stopped at the window on the way home from work. I was standing on the second floor this time taking pictures. The security guard stopped to see what had me intrigued and he found himself entranced too. He pointed out a few different branches to me and we puzzled over how the snow appeared to sit above  but not on top the branches. We wondered if the snow sat on top of icicles that we could not see. Another one of God's mysteries.

Thanks so much for visiting. Take care and God bless.

Golden gems light up the sky

Glittering shimmering like a million diamonds lighting up the sky
The sparkling and shining cannot help but catch the eye
The rising sun breaks through darkness with a glowing light
Creating day from the dark of night
Golden hues hugging branches, making ice look like gems
Casting a glow on trees branches and stems

Can you see the sunrise casting a golden glow on the icicles and making them look like jewels? I grabbed my camera but was disappointed in how the pictures came out.  It was time to scrape the car and go into work. One downside about winter in Michigan is that you are required to heat up your car prior to going anywhere, and not just that, but windows need to be scraped or no one will know where they are going. :-) I really had no time to spare, but could not resist snapping a couple pictures. I wish you could see the ice covered branches with the golden sun shining on them. There is nothing like the real thing. :-) Join us for Outdoor Wednesday. Thank you for visiting me today. Take care and God bless!

Dress the Part to be Professional

I was fortunate to work in the medical field for over five years, but before working in this field I had noticed the attractive scrubs some staff members wore at the different places I went for medical attention. Something about crisp clean medical scrubs encourages one to trust their health issues to the staff there.

When I began working in the medical field I had made up my mind to find quality scrubs. I worked two jobs at the time. I needed medical scrubs that would wash and wear and look good each and every time I wore them; ones that were colorfast and wrinkle resistant, fit well and always maintained their professional appearance. I worked full time at a doctor's office then part time in a pharmacy. I had a management position at my second job so had to maintain a professional appearance. These scrubs never let me down.

If you have a loved one who works in the medical profession you know how busy their schedule is and how hard they work. They may not have the time to visit a scrubs store. Why not purchase a gift certificate for them from their favorite scrubs store. I like the medical scrubs at Blueskyscrubs and the assortment is amazing! They also carry a wide variety of accessories.

Thank you for visiting me today and God bless.

Thankful Thursday - Babies

This is my baby girl and her baby girl. Her daughter (my grand daughter) is just 3 months old and has the power to wrap all of us around her little finger. My car has been down all week and my husband has been kind enough to take me every where I needed to go. I asked him to run me by my daughter Ruby's for a minute and he had no problem with that. He made a bee line for our grand daughter. They are like two peas in a pod. She got a new fluffy pink monkey for valentine's day and was quite enamored with it, and Grandpa in her. It warms my heart  to see the way my hubby interacts with the little ones. They have the power to bring out a sweeter and softer side to his nature.

My questions:

1. What warms your heart?

2. Is it something natural or do you have to go out of your way to find it?

This post linked to Two Questions Thursday. Join in and enjoy the conversation. Thanks for visiting me and God bless!

Crooked shadows

Funny thing, if you do not hold your camera level, you may get a picture that is not level. Hmm... I took four - all crooked. :-)

I was fascinated by the shadow of this wine decanter that I picked up at Goodwill for under a dollar. I had thought that I might resell it on e-bay, but when I turned it over to get some descriptive words there was clearly written NOT FOR RESALE.  So how is your day going? Thanks for visiting and join us in celebrating Shadow Shot Sunday. Take care and God bless.

Thankful Thursday - Understanding

The Lord appeared to him (Solomon) in a dream that night and told him to ask for anything he wanted, and it would be given to him! Solomon replied, "You were wonderfully kind to my father David because he was honest and true and faithful to you, and obeyed your commands. And you have continued your kindness to him by giving him a son to succeed him. O Lord my God, now you have made me the king instead of my father, David, but I am as a little child who doesn't know his way around. And here I am among your own chosen people, a nation so great that there are almost too many people to count! Give me an understanding mind so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between what is right and wrong. For who by himself is able to carry such a heavy responsibility?" I Kings 3:5-9 - The Living Bible translation

Skip down to verse 11 where God responds ..."Because you have asked for wisdom in governing my people, and haven't asked for a long life of riches for yourself, or for the defeat of your enemies-- yes, I'll give you what you ask for! I will give you a wiser mind than anyone else has ever had or ever will have! And I will also give you what you didn't ask for--riches and honor!"

I was taught long ago that we must be very careful in prayer. I have conversations daily with God. I find at times that I am trying to talk to God in the way He might want me to, then I must back up, search my heart, and surrender my wishes. If I was to pray righteously for His will when I was not sincere, God would see right through me, so I must supplant my desires with His will. You see I once prayed for something I had my heart set on. I got it and found out it was all wrong for me. Now I have a glaring example to remind me to back up, slow down and surrender my wishes to God.

My two questions and the answers are not mandatory. :-)

1. Have you prayed for something and gotten it only to regret it later?

My answer: I was once dating someone I (thought I) really wanted to marry. The marriage did take place and he (my now ex-husband) told me on the way home from the ceremony that he regretted his decision. He became abusive within the week and we divorced shortly after.

2. What is one important lesson  you have learned about prayer?

My answer: I have learned that only God knows what is best and it is best to wait on His timing.

Without End

Is a sky not magic? It has no beginning
and no end
It is the home of the sun, moon, stars,
clouds and wind
And belongs to all of us, my friend
Our eyes behold the beauty
Our minds cannot explain
Our meteorologists try
But cannot predict rain.
