Easy on the Pocket and the Eyes!

I was sitting on my knees in my yard taking pictures of various flowers when it started sprinkling. Worried about my camera I got up to go inside when I saw lightning strike the corner store and saw tree branches flying through the air. Hmm. Time to go inside?

Many homes spent the remainder of the day without power and I figured I could still go online using the battery backup, but there was no internet.  I still had a home. :-)

Such lovely little flowers. I bought them on clearance last year and planted them in my garden. They rewarded me for rescuing them by blooming again this year, which I understand is usual for Dianthus. Dianthus also grow well by seed, can be planted indoors in the winter then moved outside in the spring and will bloom year after year. This is my kind of flower, pretty, inexpensive, easy to grow and one that flowers bloom for years.

This link posted to Ruby Tuesday! Thanks so much for your visit. Take care and God  bless!

I'm glad you're all right, and still safe in your house..Dianthus is very resilient, and pretty!

I did not want my camera to get wet but when I saw the lightning and the high winds I moved quickly to get in. Bb, Chris came out to get me too!

Goodness Judy, be careful outside during thunderstorms.

Your rescued Dianthus are beautiful. I have one in an outside planter that comes back year after year to bring me smiles.

I am also glad that you and your family are alright. My heart goes out to the people who were without power and had tree limbs in their yard.

The pictures of the flower are really beautiful. I love the vibrant color.
