S is a special letter. I was born a Sheldon and there was just my sister and I. Our surname is something given to us by our parents; something to strive to live up to and/or strive to better. I may have married a man with another surname but in America we have the choice to hyphenate our name, which I did. I can be a Sheldon always and foremost and a Walker secondly.
We should live our lives in such a fashion that we could proudly shout about what our heritage means to us and our children, while we silently and humbly strive harder to be better and stronger through the aid or our Savior Jesus Christ. Let our works show the world (not our words) as we live a sermon, not preach one.
