A Splash of Yellow

Summer days bring out the playfulness in us. We have children playing in the pool, on the water slide and chasing bubbles. My grandchildren don't mind posing and I don't mind taking photos. Please join us for more sunny yellow at Mellow Yellow Monday. Thanks so much for your visit. Take care and God bless!

Thankful Thursday - Answers

This past spring this ground cover began springing up in one small area of my front lawn. I was so close to the flower trying to see the details. They are so tiny. Does anyone know what this flower is? I have only one question this week as you guys have just been awesome with your answers!!

Lee was refunded from paypal for the scam he invested in. He pressed paypal as suggested and they made good.

Mari finished her paper and I gladly edited. She had 14 pages!! She needed 12! You guys are great!!

Please visit Amanda at Thursday Two Questions. The conversation is lively, the help genuine, and the company great.

When it is no longer private...

I grew up in a household where anger erupted constantly. I was always afraid that something would set my father off. Every once in awhile something brings it all rushing back and I am reliving the hurt full feelings. I no longer blame him. I realize that it was never his intention to hurt.

He had a private little hell
Tucked safely in his soul
He really thought he had it
Under his control
Soon it filled up every moment
And its venom filled his soul
Until the private little hell
Had nowhere else to go
It peeked out his windows
It crashed down his door
He became violent,
He yelled and he swore
He hurt the very people
He promised to adore
The private little hell
Was tucked away no more

While anger can be a healthy outlet, anger (like fire) when raging out of control will destroy everyone and everything in its path. If you know someone who has trouble with anger issues there is help out there. I found two very good sites:

It is important, but not easy to understand that the angry person may not want to act like that and may need help to learn how to deal with these emotions. They may be clueless on how to "calm the storm". The anger is not just harmful to those he/she lashes out at but anger causes many health issues for the person who harbors these feelings.

Thanks for your visit today. I pray that you have a healthy and blessed life always! This post linked to Weekend Reflections! Be sure to visit for more reflective shots.

Thankful Thursday - Success

I have been suffering from blogger blues. First of all I was blue because I did not have the time to get on the computer. Second of all blogger was not letting me upload pictures. The above pictures were taken by me this week end in preparation for Ruby Tuesday. On Monday night I opened blogger in all four of my browsers and not one would successfully upload my pictures. Finally at about 2:00 am I threw in the towel and made way for my bed. For two days I have spent quite a bit of time reviewing and rehashing things on my computer as my antivirus was disabled (not by me!), updates were not updating and everything was taking for ever. But after performing restore a half a dozen times and searching for updates for the computer I received a pop up from my anti-virus and it is back!!

My two questions this week are a bit unusual. My daughter in law, Mari, has a homework assignment on French director Marcel Carne` and we have searched high and low for a book about him and two movies he directed: Children of Paradise, Daybreak or Bizarre, Bizarre. She tried Netflix and could not find anything and tried Amazon.com and our local libraries.

Have you ever been given an unusual homework assignment and how did you get through it?

Have you any suggestions for sources?

Thanks for visiting. Your visits are always refreshing. Please join us at Amanda's tonight and participate in Thursday's two question.
Take care and God bless.

Worry Not

Even in Bible days Jesus recognized the human tendency to worry about things. In reassuring his listeners He preached "..why take ye thought for rainment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these" ~ Matthew 6: 28,29

I cannot think of one, not one problem I have ever resolved by worrying! Can you?

Thanks for the visit. Take care and God bless.

Red Roses to Chase your Blues Away

“Love is much like a wild rose, beautiful and calm, but willing to draw blood in its defense.”
~  Mark Overby

“A single rose can be my garden...a single friend, my world.”~ Leo F. Buscaglia

“A relationship is like a rose, How long it lasts, no one knows. Love can erase an awful past, love can be yours, you'll see at last. To feel that love, it makes you sigh, To have it leave, you'd rather die. You hope you've found that special rose, 'cause you love and care for the one you chose.” ~  Rob Cella

Roses are amazing. No wonder they symbolize love. For an idea of how amazing read: Ten Uses for Rose Oil

Thankful Thursday - Family

Life has been tremendously busy lately. The first two pictures show two of my granddaughters who graduated this year. This was their open house. I am so proud of you girls!! Their father, Anthony, Aunt Ruby and Uncle Chris are pictured. Aunt Aimee just started a new job and could not get the time off, but we had loads of people there to cheer them on. You go girls!!

Lately my large family has had lots of significant events to keep all of us busy and I am all too happy to participate but part of me misses my blogging when I am away for hours at a time.

1.) How do you balance your family and your blogging?

2.) Could you go a week without blogging? I think I went the whole week end and it about drove me crazy.
 :-)

This post is linked to Two Questions Thursday. Please drop in on Amanda and see what all the buzz is about.
Thanks for visiting me and God bless.
