Bugle ground covering
Carpetweed ground covering
Ajuga ground covering
My friend Jeannie gave me these lovely purple flowers from her garden and I transplanted them last year. They have rewarded me with many more blooms. The leaves even have a tinge of purple to them. They also go by the names of Bugleweed or Carpet weed in addition to the Latin name of Ajuga Reptans. Early in the season they were very close to the ground, but shortly after they sprout up with these lovely purple blooms. I had to play with the hue in photo scape to get the right shade because the camera tends to make them look blue and they are actually a deep luxurious purple.
