Leaves for Leontien

Coleus arrangement

For more information on cancer fighting foods and supplements read on....

Leaves for Leontien

We have an outpouring of support for blogger Leontien. We wish her well, healing, happiness and beauty. I have compiled a list of healthy foods known to combat cancer and also know catnip, while it does not directly provide cancer protection is known to sooth and help one rest. When the body is under attack, one of the things we are desperate for is rest.

Feel the soft velvety leaves. Now envision your bed being soft and downy like these leaves. You will feel as if you landed on a pile of soft downy leaves as you relax with your cup of tea. Pluck some off and brew some tea letting it steep for a few minutes before drinking. The taste is very mild so you will not feel the need to add sugar, which is not recommended when shoring the body to fight off attack anyway.

I share mine with my cat, but that’s your choice J.

Foods for your arsenal:

Choose lots of foods (The Doctors Book of Food Remedies from the editors of Prevention)  from the following list to help your body fight:

  • asparagus
  • barley
  • beans
  • broccoli
  • brown rice
  • brussels sprouts
  • bulgur
  • cabbage
  • cauliflower
  • cherries
  • cranberries
  • fiber
  • fish
  • flax seed
  • garlic
  • guavas
  • lime and lemon zest
  • milk
  • mushrooms
  • olive oil
  • onions
  • oranges
  • tangerines
  • tea
  • whole grains

Herbals for your arsenal:

The Green Pharmacy written by James A. Duke PhD highly recommends certain herbals for their healing properties and their ability to protect against cancer:

  • phytoestrogens
  • soy isoflavones
  • black cohosh
  • alfalfa
  • chasteberry
  • false-unicorn
  • fennel
  • licorice

  • red clover
  • sassafras
  • strawberry

Please always consult with your health care provider before implementing any new supplements or foods in your diet particularly if you are undergoing treatment for any health issues as many foods and supplements are known to heal or hinder. Work with your physician to get the best care possible.

We wish you all the best. Take care, be well and God bless! Thank you A Rural Journal for the kind invitation to participate in well wishes for Leontien!  Blessings, Leontien!!
