Outfoxed by a Squirrel

Someone had the corn all trussed up for the birds, but he was too clever for them. 66/83

This photo put me in the mind of a post I created over a year ago after coming home from work one day and spotting a squirrel in the tree in my front yard holding the bird feeder sideways pouring the seeds directly into his/her mouth. They are so clever! Once it was empty he tossed it on the ground.

This post linked to succinctly yours where Grandma supplies the photo and a bonus word. The challenge is to write a short story using her photo as a prompt and working the bonus word into it using 140 characters or words or less. How low can you go?

Thank you for your visit. Take care, stay healthy and God bless!

Judy, your squirrels are clever little beasts.

I liked hearing about the one in your yard who tipped the feeder so 'he' could eat directly from it. That reminds me of the 'guy' who drinks milk out of the refrigerator directly from the carton.

Yes, they are clever. Nice one.

Those squirrels are clever! I've seen them stealing bird seed from the bird feeder at my house.

We have a bird feeder withb a roof - designed to keep out the squoirrels. Instead they creep underneath it and have shelter from the rain.

Squirrels are clever little devils, indeed!

Perfect! Squirrels are such clever thieves. My father had an ongoing battle to design a bird feeder that the squirrels couldn't access.
