Leaves of Orange and Gold

Leaves of orange,
Leaves of gold
What a beauty
To behold!

Leaves of orange
Leaves of green

Cover trees and
In between

Scattered over ground
And street
Making their bed
Beneath my feet.
Nature by God

Basic Facts about Kiwi Berries

The center of the Kiwi Berry

While out with the kids today I came across kiwi berries in our local Sams. Naturally curious, we bought a carton and split it between us. I had to cut one in half to see what it looked like inside. Cute huh? It looks like a mini kiwi.

Comparing kiwi with the kiwi berry

There is no need to peel!

Pop them in your mouth, just like a seedless grape. In fact they grow on a fast-growing vine just like a grape. They are a portable and nutritious snack. The skin is smooth and there is no need to peel it. It still tastes remarkably like it's cousin the kiwi fruit. Since they ripen at room temperature there is no need to refrigerate. Once ripe their skin will turn darker green, purple or brown, sometimes with a red blush. You will know they are ready to eat once their skin is soft to touch.

Kiwi, or actinidia arguta originated in China and is also found in north-eastern Siberia, Korea and Japan.

Just 6 ozs contain 120% of your daily requirement of vitamin C

The kiwi fruit is rich in vitamin C; high in fiber, potassium, vitamin E and magnesium while being low in fat, cholesterol and sodium.

Just a little more effort

One of my grandsons wanted to purchase something very special for his father for his birthday. I cannot tell you how much window shopping we did. His funds were low but his expectations high. We finally ended up in a thrift store where he spotted this and it immediately grabbed his attention. He says;

"Wow! Grandma Judy, that's it! It sounds just like my Dad! He's always pushing me just a little harder, and I love it for him!"

I don't want to not honor the writer of this wonderful creator of this saying. The link listed on the bottom was http://www.element.com/. I'm not advertising for this site. I haven't done anything but check to make sure it is a legitimate site, but want to credit them, and my son-in law, Aaron for being the type of father who inspires his son, and his son, Anthony, my grandson deserves high marks for recognizing and appreciating his father's efforts. Next time I think about giving up, I will hold on for at least another second. :-)

Thanks for your visit. Take care, God bless and stay well.
